DR. WILLIAM HEIMER: Okay, I just love new patients that have stretch marks and scars, because unlike years past, we've been able to do a lot of really neat things to make scars a lot better. The newest advance that we have is fractionated CO2. We're able to tighten stretch marks like we've never been able to tighten them before, and to remove a lot of irregularity that people see, especially post surgical procedures or people who bulk up for exercise or women who've had children. Those stretch marks seem to respond really well. A combination of using that particular treatment and intense pulse light allows us to make a very good difference for those patients. So it's been something that I haven't been very enthusiastic about until recently, but now we have a lot of before and afters that are pretty exciting to see. So if you have stretch marks, I think we have a lot of good things to offer you.

The scars that occur after skin cancer surgery or may occur after practice surgery, brow lifting, any other kind of tightening procedure that might be done, those scars can sometimes inadvertently be unsightly and you can have a fantastic result but still see the scar and that can kind of cause a little bit of disappointment. One of the things we've been able to do with great success is a combination of urbian and fractionated CO2, and occasionally a little bit of intense pulse light, and we're able to make scars often times melt away. So it's pretty neat to be able to offer all these different things to patients who thought they might not have had any option to make their scar look better.
